The Opportunity Project Summit is a multiday virtual conference to showcase the work accomplished through TOP’s 2021 sprints, feature other innovative technology and data products, host conversations with leading experts and grassroots community members, provide hands-on learning opportunities for attendees, and announce the winners of the Open Data for Good Grand Challenge. More broadly, the event will feature speakers, discussions, and hands-on learning opportunities on civic technology, public sector innovation, effective models for cross-sector collaboration, inclusive design, and all of the subject matter encompassed in this year’s sprints.
Past speakers include technology CEOs, community advocates, youth/students, and government leaders— such as Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, current Census Bureau Acting Director Ron Jarmin, current National Coordinator for Health Information Technology Micky Tripathy, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson, White House Deputy Chief of Staff Chris Liddell, Federal CIO Suzette Kent, Deputy Secretary of Labor Pat Pizzella, White House Advisor Scott Turner, NOAA Administrator Dr. Neil Jacobs, Current CIO of the CIA Juliane Gallina, US CTO Megan Smith, and OSTP Director Dr. Kelvin Droegemeier (all previously held positions except as noted).
