This past March, Innovation Strategist Diego Perez had the great opportunity to represent OSB on the judging panel of Georgia Tech’s 2024 IDSA Student Merit Awards.
The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) “is one of the oldest and largest industrial design associations in existence.” The Georgia Tech IDSA Chapter provides students with a means to catalyze learnings and professional development through connection to other industrial designers.
As a judge at the 2024 IDSA Student Merit Awards, Diego Perez and other local Atlanta design professionals witnessed student presentations of their work, eventually awarding undergrad winner John Hill and graduate winner Palak Gupta.
“As a senior student I went on the same journey in 2016, and now witnessing the amount of exceptional projects was truly inspiring. These projects stand as a testament to the remarkable growth and continuous evolution of the Industrial Design program at Georgia Tech. They encompass a diverse array of scenarios, showcasing the program's commitment to equipping future industrial designers with comprehensive skills. Choosing the winner for the undergraduate program proved challenging due to the consistently high level and quality of each project.”
